There are few things worse than realizing your phone battery is about to die and you don’t have a charger in site, especially when you are about to take an important call. While you can get extra power from a big battery pack that straps to the back of the phone, who wants to add bulk to their mobile. Enter the Fuel Micro Charger, a smaller solution for your battery boosting needs.

The Fuel Micro Charger is a key-chain friendly device that looks like a rusted fuel can. It chargers your phone via a micro-USB port that you can access or charge the 220 milliAmp battery, which is good for about 20-30 minutes of extra battery life, just enough to get you out of a pinch.

By: Jason Smith, VP of D. Jones Clothiers

It's been said that you can tell a lot about a man by the shoes he wears. I've had clients tell me that if a man’s shoes appear to be not taken care of or if they look old or unpolished, then they wouldn't do business with that person. “If they don’t pay attention to the details in their appearance, what makes me think they’ll pay attention to the details of my business?” This quick guide to dress shoes should help you avoid being “that guy”…

A good dress shoe is comfortable, versatile and shaped well, all of which are key components when choosing the right pair. If you have a shoe that is comfortable but is shaped badly or appears clunky, then it's a bad investment. If it's shaped well and is comfortable but you can only wear it with one outfit, then you may want to wait on it until you have a wider selection of shoes in your wardrobe.

One cardinal mistake men make when choosing a dress shoe is putting it on and simply looking straight down to see if they like it. If you ever watch a women try on shoes, they stand in them, walk around wearing them to get a sense of how they feel, look at them from the front, back and sides in full-length mirrors, ask their girlfriends how they look, etc. We might not need to go that far but just looking down won't cut it. At the very least, look at your profile in a full-length mirror if accessible. Remember, that's how everyone else will be seeing you in them.

Now that we have addressed the guidelines of choosing fit and shape, we can move into selecting style and color, which are the two elements that categorize shoes as classic or trendy.

Classic: Loafer, cap-toe, brands such as To Boot New York's Oakes, Hayden, Ward and Warwick in colors such as tan and cognac.

Trendy: Monkstrap, Wingtip, brands such as To Boot New York's Langley, Woodward in teak and Windsor. I'm not a fan of investing in too many pairs of overly trendy shoes because they are fads that don't stand the test of time, whereas classic styles always will.

My favorite shoe brand is To Boot New York. My favorite style is the Windsor Wingtip in Cognac because it's versatile and makes a statement. I can wear them with literally every suit I have in my wardrobe, outside of a black tux. It's also one of those timeless shoes that when people see them, they automatically assume you have a great sense of style.

Finally, regarding how to care for these oh-so important accessories. Polish, polish, polish! Whether you have this done for you by your local shoe shiner or you polish them yourself, you have to take care of your dress shoes if you want them to last. Furthermore, it's important for your overall image. A beautiful custom crafted suit with scuffed up, dusty shoes is not an ideal look. Take the time to care for these details and watch the compliments come pouring in!

As you age, it's common to begin to feel paranoia over the thickness of your hair. No man or woman wants to think of losing their hair, and as a result, many people worry over whether or not their hair is as thick and healthy as it once was. The likelihood of developing hair loss increases dramatically as you age; fortunately, if you know what to look out for and you notice signs of thinning hair quickly, you can often stop the progression of the problem with effective treatments.

Causes of Thinning

For both men and women, androgenic alopecia is the leading cause of hair thinning and hair loss. While doctors don't fully understand the condition, it is widely understood that androgenic alopecia stems from hair follicles that are oversensitive to the effects of male sex hormones like testosterone. If you have androgenic alopecia, the presence of these hormones on your scalp causes your hair follicles to shrink in size. As a result, the hairs that emerge from them are smaller in diameter, creating that dreaded look of thinning. If the condition progresses without treatment, the follicles can become so narrow that hair growth stops completely, leading to baldness.

Hair loss can occur due to other causes as well, including stress, major surgery or autoimmune disorders. In some cases, medications or underlying medical conditions like thyroid disease are the cause of hair loss. Because there are so many possible causes of the condition, you should consult your doctor for diagnosis at the first signs of thinning.

Signs of Thinning

Androgenic alopecia progresses in different ways in men and women. For men, hair loss typically begins at the crown of the head outward in a bowl shape and at the hairline. Women tend to see the first signs of hair loss in a vertical band along the center of the scalp with hair loss spreading outward from the center in both directions.

It's important to keep in mind that it's normal to lose hairs every day. The amount of hair loss can change on a daily basis and typically is in the range of 40 to 120 stands. Often times, strands are shed under normal conditions when you're washing, combing or styling your hair. Because it can be difficult to judge how much hair you're actually losing, it's not advisable to gauge thinning based on how many hairs you find in the drain or on your brush or comb.

The best way to monitor thinning is to examine your scalp after you've washed and combed your hair into its normal style. Tip your head forward and look in the areas where hair loss begins. If you can see your scalp through your hair in these areas, your hair may be thinning. In cases where hair loss is suspected, it's helpful to snap a photograph and then take another one every month to look for signs of thinning. Also, thinning hair makes your scalp more susceptible to sunburn, so if you suddenly notice that your scalp consistently seems redder after spending time outdoors, your hair may have begun to thin.

Hair Loss Treatment Options

There are many highly effective treatment options available for hair loss, but not all of the treatments are appropriate for every man or woman. The first step in hair loss treatment is ruling out any underlying conditions that could be responsible for thinning. Once you receive a diagnosis of androgenic alopecia, you can consider treatments like:

- Hair loss shampoos

- Topical hair loss treatments like minoxidil

- The oral medication finasteride (available only for men)

- Laser treatments and laser combs

- Hair transplants

The goal of most treatments is to block or decrease the effects of androgens on the scalp or to stimulate or simulate new hair growth in areas of thinning and baldness. Discuss the available treatments with your doctor to choose the one that is the best fit for you.

So, if you’ve never been on a cruise before how can you decide if they are right for you? Consider some of the main pros and cons of cruises:

Pros:

•More relaxation. Cruises tend to be easier than land travel. You don’t spend long hours in the car or on a plane, and there are generally less hiccups than on land-travel excursions.

•Value. Since cruises are packaged priced you tend to get more bang for your buck. On a cruise you get room, dining, entertainment, and a whole host of other extras.

•Unpack once and still see multiple destinations. When you do multi-spot travel by land you have to pack and unpack at each place, on a cruise you only have to do it once!

Cons

•Less time to explore. Most vacation time on a cruise is spent on the ship, so if you want to explore land destinations or get a real taste of the culture and people this won’t be your cup of tea.

•Fewer destination options. Cruises are limited to coastal areas, meaning if you want to explore inland you’re better off taking a car or a plane.

•Stuck with the same company. Spending the majority of your time on the ship, you won’t be able to get away from the group you’re traveling with, so choose your travel companions wisely.

Turning 50 is definitely a milestone in one’s life. Some embrace it and gracefully head over the hill, while others drag their heels the whole way over. If you are more of the heels dragging type, here are 5 things you should consider doing before the big Five O. Try to view this as a positive life changing experience rather than panicking and doing all of those things that are oh so typical.

Reconnect. Reconnect with a long lost friend. Who is that one person in your life, that even though you haven’t spoken to in forever still crosses your mind? There’s no better time than now to make up for the lost years. Don’t let another moment pass by before you let them know how much they mean to you.

Explore. Explore a new land. What are you waiting for! Take that trip, visit that city, go to that place you’ve been meaning to get to for years and haven’t made the time! Now is that time.

Conquer. Conquer a fear. For some, this may mean the extremes. The obvious jumping out of a plane, hiking Mt. Everest, paragliding, bungee jumping…(you get the picture). While for others, this may be as simple as riding your first roller coaster or running a marathon. Whatever your fear is, just take that leap…what do you have to lose?

Learn. Learn something new. Engage your brain and feel years younger. This may be learning another language, musical instrument, painting, etc. Find something that interests you and dive in. You’ll feel great about your new accomplishment.

Give. Do a good deed, there’s no better reward in life than contributing to the lives of others. Do something kind for someone that doesn’t except it. Sponsor a child in another less fortunate country, help the elderly, plan a special date for your significant other, feed the hungry, donate to charity. Think outside the box, and come up with a creative way to help someone in need.

So there you have it, a few suggestions on how to turn a potentially terrifying moment into an awe-inspiring life changing event. However, there are also a few things I would advise steering clear of.

Trade In. Don’t trade in that wife of yours for a younger version that most likely has ulterior motives. Gentlemen, the grass isn’t greener on the other side! And if it is… water your own lawn! See “good deed” example.

Vroom Vroom. Don’t buy a car you can’t exactly afford, in a color that screams, “look at me!” Men, this is not a good idea. I know you want that cannery yellow drop top beauty you’ve been eyeing for some time. If you can truly afford it, I say go for it but please, not in yellow or any other obnoxious shade for that matter! Keep it classy.

New Do. Don’t get me wrong; I’m all for changing up your style and going for a new do! But please don’t be misled to believe a ponytail at 50 is the way to go. This doesn’t take years off your look; it just looks like you may be trying too hard. Keep the style age appropriate while still changing it up. If in doubt, ask your grooming specialist her opinion or bring in a picture to see if that style would work for you.

Tat Tat Tatted Up. Don’t get tatted or pierced. There are some exceptions to this….little to none though. If you didn’t have it at 20, it’s not any cooler at 50. In fact, its way, way less cooler. Just don’t do it!

Clean Out The Closet. Don’t start dressing way over the top. Turning 50 is a great excuse to clean out that closest and snazzy it up a bit. However, don’t try to wear Affliction shirts or jeans that are bedazzled. This is not a good look for most men, let alone the gentleman that you already are. Instead, clean out that closet, and go for a trendy yet sophisticated look. Get some new pieces that can be mixed and matched to create a variety of outfits. Also make sure you get these tailored! Superb fitting clothing will take years off your age, and waistline! Trust me.

The 5W charger comes in yellow, blue, red or black and is out this month, making charging your smartphone that much easier.

For those diehard BlackBerry fans out there April has seen the release of the . Ask any loyal BlackBerry user why they are faithful and a great majority will admit it’s for the keyboard.

This is the article that gives you the perspective of someone who drives these cars everyday. But, I am not a car guy nor an enthusiast. I just wanted to figure out a way to drive nice cars and not have to pay for them. So I am not going to give you the journalists view. That view I think is biased. This is the regular guy married with three kids version.

The Ferrari 430 Spyder is a sexy car. It has the supercharged V8 that is very quick. I would compare it to a cornerback, its very nimble and corners quickly and agressively. The transmission is smooth and very quick. Larger cockpit with a very slim dash makes it easier for taller drivers. I am 6 2 and quite comfortable in this car. Great seating as well with 6 way controls. Music is important to me, and this does not give you that. The radio has decent highs but not very strong and the bass tends to overrun the system. A good amp upgrade would do wonders.

Now the Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder is an exotic beauty. A V10 brute of an engine that once it opens up, its relentless in power. I would compare to a running back, good cornering and great breaking on this car and awesome top end speed. Its AWD and has a low torque curve so its very jumpy if you dont give it steady gas starting off. The cockpit is like a plane and very comfining, that makes it difficult to drive for extended periods of time and the seating is extremely low with little padding as well. The handling is very responsive and the sport mode takes this car to another level. But there is a price to pay for that mode in fuel, as it drinks it very aggressively.

Overall, they both give you attention when you drive. Plenty of stares and camera phones. My opinion is that the Ferrari garners more respect from those that can afford either vehicle. Besides the price tag being a bit more hefty, many supercar afficionados believe the Gallardo is the entry level supercar. So even though it performs nicely it screams look at me, and the Ferrari having the heritage has the image.

Who says you have to own it...

Men out there seem to have a stigma attached to anti-aging creams and serums and any other product that seemingly might take away from their manhood. However, that is one stigma that must be broken. Now, instead of going to the mall and settling for an anti-aging product made primary for women, you get your own.

Taun Small Batch Men’s Skin Care was made by two men, for men. It is a proven fact that men and women DO NOT share the same skin composition. In fact, the only area on the face that is the same for men and women alike is right under the eye. So why not use a product made for YOUR skin, tested and proven to show results?

Taun’s Facial Repair Formula is first and foremost designed to fight the signs of aging and second to act as a moisturizer. Taun was also created to double as an eye cream. The under eye area is the thinnest skin on the face, thus this area tends to show aging first. It is crucial to regularly use a product that will slow down this process.

Taun consists of 13 scientifically proven ingredients that have been developed into one product. Literally everything your face needs can be found in this one jar. It contains the most proven anti-aging over-the-counter topical ingredient sold on the market; Retinol. The foundation of any anti-aging routine must contain that one ingredient.

I won’t bore you with the other 12 ingredients; just trust me that each one was thoughtfully chosen to deliver a specific result. Taun contains no fragrance, no dyes, and is never tested on animals. Men of any age and skin type can benefit from the ingredients found in the Facial Repair Formula whether they want to diminish current issues or delay future concerns. Think of the Facial Repair Formula like dental floss for your face!

We’re not ones to jump on the sexism and political correctness bandwagon, but there does seem to be an awful lot of guides out there that tell women how to look amazing at a wedding, whether it is their own or one they are attending as a guest.

Some will say that the reason such guides don’t exist for men is because they don’t care. Some don’t, undoubtedly, but it is probably nearer to the truth to say that most do, there just isn’t enough information out there to point them in the right direction. If you’re a guy, admitting that you sought a little image assistance can be the starting point of weeks, months, or maybe even a lifetime of mockery, which can obviously be something of a put off.

Fear not, however, because we’re more than happy to give you a leg up, especially with the summer wedding season approaching. Check out how to look like a gent at every wedding you attend this year.

Do Your Research

There are two prongs to this point. The first is that you need to discover if there are any specific color schemes. If it isn’t on the invitation, ask the groom what shades he will be sporting on the big day.

Speaking of the groom, we move to point two. Find out everything you can about his suit. Yes, you want to look good, but appearing to out dazzle him in the style stakes is a big no-no.

Sensible Dress

If you have a wardrobe bursting with stylish formal wear, then this will be easy. If not, you might struggle a little.

Keeping an eye on the weather forecast is the key. If it’s going to be hot, you need to pull out the linen and go for lighter colors. Cold, then you can stick to wool blend or something more ‘every day.’

Accessorize Well

We’re not suggesting that you turn up at the church dripping with bling, but you should put some time and effort into making sure that the added touches to your look are taken care of.

Pull out your best watch, ensure your sunglasses are in great condition, and buy the most stylish tie pin or bar you can find. The little things matter, even if you’re sitting at the back of the church or on the corner table at the reception, someone will notice and judge.

Take Care of Grooming

Even if you go to work looking a tad unkempt and get away with it, that is not an excuse to go for the same look at a wedding. Whatever your usual appearance, hair needs to be tidy and any facial hair trimmed back and neat.

In short, you need to make the effort you would on your own wedding day.

Take care of these tips and you’ll look and feel great without appearing as if your trying to upstage the wedding itself. Whether you want to blend in or stand out, these pointers will give you the essential look for a summer wedding.

In an ideal world none of us would ever eat fast food. Unfortunately we live in a world that is far from ideal and that means quite frequently we don’t have the time to have a home-cooked meal. When fast food is your only choice where can you go for a decent meal? These considered to be the three healthiest fast food joints:

1. Panera Bread. Panera comes up with a wide variety of options for every meal of the day. Whole grain bread, fruit and baked chips as well as half-size soup, salads and sandwiches all lend to a healthy menu. Just make sure you stick with the healthy soups and sandwiches and steer clear of the cheese danishes and sticky buns.

2. Jason’s Deli. Jason’s isn’t nationwide yet, but if you have one in your area swing by for some healthy eats. One-fifth of all its ingredients are organic, and the menu is stocked full of super-healthy sandwiches complete with nutritional info.

3. Au Bon Pain. Au Bon Pan’s Portions menu contains 14 nutritious small plates that are all under 200 calories. You can also check out the nutritional value of any dish at the on-site computer kiosks, so you can make a healthy choice, every time.
