Colored Denim for Guys…is it IN or is it OUT?

As the fall season approaches, colored denim lives on. While the bright colored denim hues of summer are gone, you can still wear colored jeans in the fall. It takes a little bit of practice to get the trend right, but if you are young enough, and bold enough, you can pull it off.  What do you need to know if you are going to attempt the trend?

Pick a Fall Color

Burgundy and dark purple are the season’s two hottest colors, but you can also try tan, navy and dark green. These colors are all perfect for the fall. They are subtle enough that even if you aren’t a fashion risk-taker you can give them a try.

Pick the Right Fit

Colored denim is the statement piece in your outfit, so make sure your jeans fit right. If you are wearing a lighter color pulling and bunching is more noticeable, so when in doubt go a size up. Straight-leg and boot-cut styles are more flattering because the elongate the body, making you look taller.

Pick the Right Pairings

Color on the bottom means you should wear neutral on top. Too much color just makes you look like a rainbow. Wear white, black, grey or chambray and you should be safe. Shoes can make or break the look as well – go with lace-up boots or oxfords. Pair with printed socks and roll your jeans slightly for a super trendy, on-point look.

So, if you’re feeling up to it, try the colored jeans trend.  Just make sure you keep the look dignified enough to still be classified in the gentleman group.
