The Pros and Cons of Cruises

TravelCruises are one of those funny things that people seem to either love or hate. So, if you’ve never been on a cruise before how can you decide if they are right for you? Consider some of the main pros and cons of cruises:

Pros

•More relaxation. Cruises tend to be easier than land travel. You don’t spend long hours in the car or on a plane, and there are generally fewer hiccups than on land-travel excursions.

•Value. Since cruises are packaged priced you tend to get more bang for your buck. On a cruise you get room, dining, entertainment, and a whole host of other extras.

•Unpack once and still see multiple destinations. When you do multi-spot travel by land you have to pack and unpack at each place, on a cruise you only have to do it once!

Cons

•Less time to explore. Most vacation time on a cruise is spent on the ship, so if you want to explore land destinations or get a real taste of the culture and people this won’t be your cup of tea.

•Fewer destination options. Cruises are limited to coastal areas, meaning if you want to explore inland you’re better off taking a car or a plane.

•Stuck with the same company. Spending the majority of your time on the ship, you won’t be able to get away from the group you’re traveling with, so choose your travel companions wisely.
